The problem
Why it exists
Anyone can put a picture of a signature on a page. What decides a dispute two years later is whether you can still show what happened: who opened it, from where, what disclosure they accepted, in what order, and that not one byte has moved since. Rutba Sign records that ceremony as it happens, hash-chains it so it cannot be reordered or thinned, and seals it — and the counterparty can verify the result without an account, without trusting us, and without paying anything.

Worth knowing
Nothing is built yet. The product is designed in unusual detail - the evidence model, the identity ladder, the compliance gates for US ESIGN/UETA, UK and EU eIDAS, and the categories it will refuse outright - and that design is what is on this page. Two things are already decided and worth knowing now: visible marks on the pages of an uploaded PDF arrive after the evidence record does, because a signature is made valid by the record rather than by the picture; and a customer who stops paying keeps every completed envelope and its evidence, permanently. Verification stays public and free for the same reason.
